Going Back for Something Beautiful
What if something wonderful from another lifetime is simply waiting to be remembered?

When people think about past life regression, they often imagine going back to discover the source of something that is affecting them today.
A fear.
A relationship pattern.
An unwanted emotion.
A physical symptom.
Something that needs understanding, healing or release.
And yes, past life regression can be incredibly powerful for all of those things.
But what if we went back for something completely different?
What if we went back to find something beautiful?
A life filled with love.
A time when we felt confident and strong.
A talent we'd forgotten.
A sense of belonging.
Creativity.
Abundance.
Joy.
Perhaps even a part of ourselves that we've somehow lost touch with along the way.
Because sometimes the past may have something rather wonderful waiting for us to remember.
Remembering How It Feels
I once worked with a client who was experiencing a great deal of loneliness.
We had already done healing work together, exploring and releasing some of the blocks that had made it difficult for her to experience the love and connection she longed for.
Then we did something different.
I guided her back to a positive past life in which she had experienced exactly that.
Love.
Connection.
The feeling of being surrounded by people who cared deeply for her.
And rather than simply observing that life, she was able to experience those feelings again.
To remember what it felt like to be loved.
To belong.
To feel connected.
She came out of the session feeling so much more hopeful and optimistic.
There was something incredibly comforting for her in knowing:
I've experienced this before.
I know what this feels like.
And I can experience it again.
It was healing in a completely different way.
Giving Our Inner Sat Nav a Destination
A positive past life regression is a little like setting the destination on a satellite navigation system.
It's much easier to move towards somewhere when we have a sense of where we're going.
And when what we're seeking is emotional rather than physical, perhaps the most powerful destination isn't something we can see at all.
It's something we can feel.
Love.
Confidence.
Joy.
Belonging.
Peace.
Abundance.
Once we've reconnected with that feeling, we have an internal reference point.
We've remembered the destination.
And from there, we can begin finding our way towards more of it in the life we're living now.
Abundance Isn't Always About Material Things
I've also used positive past life regression with people who have experienced a strong sense of scarcity in their current lives.
And abundance can mean so many things.
It might be financial or material abundance.
But it can also be an abundance of love.
Friendship.
Community.
Creativity.
Opportunity.
Laughter.
Freedom.
Time.
A life can be incredibly rich without that richness being measured by money or possessions.
Experiencing another life where there was a deep sense of having enough can help us reconnect with that feeling and begin to recognise where abundance may already exist, or where we would like to create more of it now.
What Have You Forgotten You Can Do?
And then there are the gifts we may have forgotten.
Perhaps you've always felt inexplicably drawn to painting.
Music.
Writing.
Healing.
Gardening.
Teaching.
Creating things with your hands.
Perhaps there's something you've always wanted to explore, learn or become better at.
A positive past life can sometimes offer another perspective.
Imagine an artist experiencing themselves creating beautiful work in another lifetime.
Or a musician reconnecting with the feeling of playing an instrument with complete confidence and freedom.
It doesn't mean they'll return from a regression suddenly able to play Rachmaninoff without practising!
But what might they bring back?
Inspiration.
Confidence.
Ideas.
A renewed desire to learn.
Perhaps even a feeling of familiarity that whispers:
I've done something like this before.
Maybe I can do it again.
Sometimes a glimpse of what may be possible is all we need to feel inspired to begin.
Bringing Something Back
One of the things I love about this work is that the experience doesn't have to remain in the session.
When someone reconnects with a feeling or quality they would like to carry forward, we can create an anchor to help them access it again.
It might be something physical.
Gently bringing two fingers together or placing a hand over the heart while experiencing that feeling can create an anchor, helping the person reconnect with it long after the session is over, simply by repeating the same physical movement.
Or it might be visual.
Perhaps there was a magnificent blue sky in that life, and simply looking up at a blue sky in this one becomes a reminder of how they felt.
Peaceful.
Loved.
Confident.
Joyful.
Strong.
Whatever it is they came back to remember.
The anchor becomes a little bridge between that experience and everyday life.
Something they can return to whenever they need it.
My Own Journey Back
I've experienced the power of this personally too.
On one occasion, I went into regression with a very specific intention.
I wanted to experience a past life that could show me something I could bring into my current life and use in my work to help others.
What unfolded was extraordinary.
I experienced myself in Lemuria, living beside the sea in a life that felt incredibly peaceful, meaningful and familiar.
There was a profound connection with nature and with dolphins, something that has resonated with me throughout my current life.
But what became particularly significant was the work I experienced myself doing with energy.
I was channelling a beautiful energy into the Earth and working with it in a way that felt completely natural.
There was no sense of learning how to do it.
It felt more like remembering.
The experience was filled with peace, connection, purpose and a wonderful sense of coming home.
And when the regression ended, I began working with the energy.
Later, symbols connected with it came to me too, and today what I call my Lemurian energy has become part of the energy work I use in my practice.
Whether someone understands an experience like mine literally, spiritually, symbolically or in another deeply personal way is entirely up to them.
For me, what matters is what the experience brought into my life.
Something that felt as though it had been waiting for me to remember it.
And something I could bring back and use to help others.
A Gentle First Step Into Regression
Positive past life regression can also be a beautiful introduction for someone who is curious about regression and would simply like to experience how the process unfolds.
Beginning with the intention of connecting with a positive life offers a gentle way to experience regression, while potentially discovering something meaningful and valuable to bring back with you.
A life where you were happy.
Loved.
Confident.
Creative.
Peaceful.
Surrounded by community.
Living with a wonderful sense of purpose.
It gives you an opportunity to experience how regression feels, to become familiar with the process and to discover how naturally your own story can unfold.
And if at another time you decide you'd like to explore something that needs deeper healing, you already know a little more about what to expect.
Going Back to Move Forward
Whatever unfolds during regression, for me the value is always in what we can bring back into the life we're living now.
Sometimes that comes through healing and releasing something from the past.
And sometimes it comes through reconnecting with something wonderful that we can carry forward.
Perhaps you rediscover courage at a time when you need to make a change.
Perhaps you remember what belonging feels like when you've been feeling alone.
Perhaps you reconnect with creativity when inspiration feels a little distant.
Perhaps you experience abundance after years of expecting scarcity.
Perhaps you find a gift or talent you'd like to explore.
Or perhaps you simply remember joy.
And that may be the most beautiful part of all.
Because healing isn't only about releasing what has hurt us.
Sometimes it's also about reconnecting with everything that strengthens us, inspires us and reminds us of who we are capable of being.
Sometimes we go back to understand.
Sometimes we go back to heal.
And sometimes...
we go back for something beautiful.
Something wonderful that was simply waiting to be remembered.
